Information For Graduate Students

The Office of the University Bursar collaborates with students in successfully managing their Student Account. Below you will find important dates and information as we help you prepare for the Autumn Quarter.

AUGUST 2023

UNIVERSITY HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN (USHIP)

All University of Chicago full time and matriculated students require health insurance coverage while in attendance. Those students who have alternative coverage may waive the University Health Insurance Program (USHIP). All students who do not waive coverage by the published deadline will have automatic enrollment in USHIP, and subsequently assessed quarterly premiums. For more information about USHIP, you may visit UChicago Student Wellness. Here you will find an option to waive coverage.

ELECTRONIC BILLS

The Bursar’s Office will send student bill notifications to your UChicago email account. Access to your electronic bill starts by obtaining your CNETID. Once student bills are available to view, you can find them in your my.UChicago student portal. You may also add Authorized Users to view your electronic bill and remit payments. You may access all academic year billing and due dates via the following Bursar’s Office link: Billing Information. Also, we offer an array of funding sources to help with payments and identify various funding options.

AUTUMN QUARTER BILL DUE AND REFUNDS ISSUED

For information on payment and refund options, and if you expect a living expense refund disbursement, go to payment and refunding.

Students log into my.UChicago to view and submit payment and sign up for Direct Deposit. Authorized Users log into the Authorized User portal to view and submit payment. View all Billing and Due Dates.

We highly encourage you to review and complete these processes online before arriving on-campus.

SEPTEMBER 2023

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT

The University of Chicago requires all students to review and complete the Financial Responsibility Agreement. You will access the Financial Responsibility Agreement through your my.UChicago student portal. This document outlines policies and procedures governing the management of your student account at the university during your academic career as a student. It is a requirement for all students to confirm review of this information once during their academic career. Failure to complete the Financial Responsibility Agreement will result in restriction of future registration.

START OF THE AUTUMN QUARTER
