Student Account Financial Restrictions

All University Students must comply with the Student Account Policies as indicated in the Financial Responsibility Agreement. The Office of the Bursar is authorized to place a Student Account Hold on future quarter registration and diploma release for a past due balance on a Student Account.

Registration Hold

Registration Holds are placed on past due Student Accounts during the sixth and the eleventh week of each quarter of the academic year.

Registration Holds are placed on matriculated student account balances greater than $1,600.

Once a Registration Hold is placed on a Student Account, the past due balance must be paid in full for automatic removal.

If you are unable to remit your past due balance in full, you are eligible to appeal this hold.

Appeals are only considered for the following circumstances:

  • You are requesting an extension to pay the past due balance in full by the term Bill Due Dates for your next term of enrollment.

  • You have been approved for additional financial aid, loans, or scholarships to fund your past due balance and they are in-progress.

  • You are submitting proof of payment reflecting payment in full will be submitted to the University.

Diploma Hold

Diploma holds are placed on graduating student account balances greater than $500.00 during the sixth week of the quarter or when an application to graduate is submitted thereafter.

Once a Diploma Hold is placed on a Student Account the past due balance must be paid in full for diploma release.

If you are unable to remit your past due balance in full, you are eligible to appeal this hold.

Appeals are only considered for the following circumstances:

  • You have been approved for additional financial aid, loans, or scholarships to fund your past due balance and they are in-progress.

  • You are submitting proof of payment reflecting payment in full will be submitted to the University.

  • You can remit your unresolved balance and are requesting an exception due to extraordinary circumstances.

Transcript

Transcript release is not subject to hold placement. All students may receive their academic transcript regardless of past due balance.

Students who separate from the University and do not resolve their past due balance over $1,000.00 may have their balance referred to a Third-Party Collection Agency.
