Third-Party Contract Billing

The University of Chicago offers Third-Party Contract Billing for students whose tuition and other fees, or a portion thereof, will be paid by a third-party either per quarter or for the full academic year. The sponsorship of the third-party must be unconditional and must not require a minimum grade or course completion for payment.

Only the STUDENT may apply for Third-Party Contract Billing (TPC). Students may complete a Third-Party Contract Application at my.UChicago > Finances > Account > Third-Party Contract - Submit.

Upon receipt of the completed Third-Party Contract Application, the amount the sponsor agrees to pay will be added as a deferred payment on the student account. The sponsor will in turn be billed for the deferred payment amount. The deferment DOES NOT indicate payment received and only reflects the amount the sponsor agrees to pay. Responsibility for the student account always remains with the student. Any amount unpaid by the sponsor by the due date will result in cancellation of the deferred payment and the student account balance will be due in full immediately.

Third-Party Contract Deadlines

Third-Party Contracts should be submitted 30 days before the start of the quarter of application. Students may apply for more than one quarter when submitting their applications.

Third-Parties will be Invoiced beginning Week Four of each quarter for all completed applications.

All TPC Invoices are due Week Eight of the quarter regardless of application date.

All unpaid TPC deferrals payments will be reversed beginning Week Ten and Student Account Holds for unpaid balances will be activated.

Sponsor Payments

Payment options and information are provided on the Third Party Contract (TPC) invoice.

Students are notified through their UChicago email when a Sponsor payment is received for their Student Account.
